I have been both a technique and scene study student at Speiser/Sturges, and it is a very comfortable and supportive atmosphere. Indrani and Shannon both give students a mama bear approach that is still challenging. I’ve wanted to be an actress since I was a kid. As a Nigerian, that didn’t seem like a realistic idea. I moved to LA in January and l was focused on starting my acting journey. I was looking for classes and felt like it was hard to find some that wouldn’t lead me astray. Ironically, I missed my train one day and on the following train I met a guy who suggested this studio. He mentioned how affordable it was and one of the teachers named Brandon. So I signed up to audit a class. Shannon was the teacher that day. It was great to watch how she worked with the actors in her class. I felt like I was in the right place and decided to become an official student. A few weeks later, my best friend’s fiancé randomly brought up Brandon and I was like, God is clearly giving me multiple signs.
What I love most about this studio, is how the teachers go above and beyond for the students. You can tell they really care about helping you in your acting journey. I love it here!

Another great thing about the studio is the community of students. Everybody here is welcoming and supportive of each other. I made some wonderful friends here thanks to this studio.
I was nervous and scared of my decision to pursue a career in acting. It is an unusual field to be a part of and it has no guarantee of success. The studio taught me it is ok to fail.

I enrolled in the studio's first online Acting Technique Class, during the Covid-19 pandemic, then worked my way up to Scene Study 1. This was my first time ever taking an acting class and I could not have chosen better coaches to help me develop my craft.
Shannon genuinely cares about her students and wants to see us succeed. Her experience in the industry combined with her passion for teaching you can't find anywhere else. We as students all learn differently and they do a great job of catering their teaching style to each student.
